Contemporary Kit Homes is a Sydney based business that was borne out of the desire to provide beautifully designed cabins and homes that are much more affordable than ‘one-off’ homes, and yet offer all the practical benefits that kit homes allow, such as:

reduced time lost to poor weather = as the timber frames are made in a factory as oppose to on-site where poor weather can cause delays
parallel construction = while the frames are being made in the factory, work can progress on the excavation and footings
less wastage of materials = typically wastage goes down from 15% ( for on-site build) to 1-2% when a kit home is provided, this reduces costs and helps our environment

Price and Value
We haven’t sacrificed the quality of materials just to get the cheapest houses possible. Our aim is to provide beautiful cabins, Granny Flats Sydney and homes that offer the best value for money.

Materials
We have sourced materials that are environmentally friendly and add to your comfort, for example as standard we use comfort tinted glass on backyard cabins which reduces the suns’ glare and retains heat in winter.

Passive solar design
We have orientated the living areas, windows and sliding doors towards north (where possible due to site conditions). And on the western and southern sides we try to limit the amount of windows facing these more extreme directions.
Through the size and angle of our overhang we aim to reduce the amount of direct summer heat, and allow as much winter light as possible. This increases your comfort and lowers heating/cooling costs.

You and your site
We believe listening is as important as talking, as such we want to hear what your needs are. As no two sites, or people are the same, we aim to modify your granny flat/cabin or house to the unique requirements of you and your site as much as possible.

One stop shop or supply only
We can organize everything from concept to completion and everything in between, including submissions to council, structural certification and installation. Alternatively, if you wish to be an owner builder we can supply the materials to either lockup or linings stage.
